One Night Only

It has just come to our attention that Adam & Eve contract performer and all-around hottie Kayden Kross will be featuring at the Flamingo Showclub in Dayton, Ohio, Thursday night.
The Flamingo is managed by a friend of mine, Tim Case, an excellent writer and the new husband of retired performer Felicia Fox. They've been together for years, I guess after they had a baby last year they decided to settle down, that's their business.
I like Kayden Kross. We hit it off when she came to the XFANZ office (an autographed poster of Kayden's Krossfire is hanging above my desk with the warning "Tod Hunter! I'm watching you!" ominously written on it) and I accompanied her and Mike South to the screening of Pirates 2 in downtown Los Angeles a week or so ago. Mike is not from around here and was surprised to find out that Century City is quite far from downtown Los Angeles.
After the Pirates 2 premiere, we were hungry so I led Kayden and Mike over to The Pantry, a venerable no-frills diner at 9th and Figueroa. The place claims that it has never been closed or without a customer in its 70-plus years of existence, and I have been helping them out on the never-without-a-customer bit since I was a child. We spent the better part of an hour in off-the-record conversation.
When we were returning to the car, I remembered that we hadn't gotten the parking ticket validated. Mike grabbed the ticket and ran across 9th street, unmindful that it was against the light.
When he came back, validated ticket in hand, he grinned, "I've been put in jail for worse than jaywalking."
To which Kayden replied, with a smile in her voice, "Me too."
Pretty is easy. Wit is tough. Self-deprecating wit is damn near impossible.
I knew there was a reason I liked that girl.
The Flamingo Showclub is located at 7031 N. Dixie Dr., in Dayton, Ohio. The club is open from 3 p.m.-2:30 a.m. For more information, call (937) 264-9501 or visit the club website.
Tell Tim — and Kayden — I said hi.
